Arrival at Muscat International Airport and meet tour representative (in main arrival hall) for transfer to hotel in Muscat. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to explore and relax at nearby beaches and dining places.

Day 2 Muscat
After breakfast meet up with fellow travellers and group tour leader. Visit the 5th largest mosque in the world (it can accommodate 20,000 worshippers), the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Passing by the diplomatic quarter, you will be taken to the oldest and largest market in the country, Muttrah Souq. Walk through its narrow alleys where the air is filled with the smell of frankincense and sandalwood. The next stop is the Al Alam Palace where the Sultan receives his state guests. The palace is flanked by two Portuguese fortresses, Al Jalali (built 1578) to the right and Al Mirani (built 1581) to the left. Take a visit to the National Museum of Oman which displays Oman’s historical and cultural scene.

Day 3 Muscat – Wadi Shab/Wadi Tiwi – Bimmah Sinkhole – Sur – Ras Al Hadd
What separates Oman from other Gulf States is its diverse geography and nature. After breakfast start the day by heading south for a leisurely hike to the twin wadis of Shab and Tiwi. There will be a possibility for swimming in each, so prepare for a change of clothes. You will pass by Bimmah Sinkhole with its azure coloured saltwater pool, here is your chance to get the perfect picture. In the afternoon you will arrive in the fishing town of Sur, which is home of Omani traditional dhows. You will visit the Dhow Factory which is also an open air museum showcasing how these traditional boats are still made till this day by hand. In the evening an extraordinary experience awaits you at the Turtle Beach in Ras Al Jinz where you will get the opportunity to witness sea turtles coming to the shore to lay eggs!

Day 4 Ras Al Hadd – Wadi Bani Khalid – Wahiba Sands
After breakfast we embark on a stunning coastal drive reaching Wadi Bani Khalid where water flows all year round. This most loved wadi of the country features large pools of turquoise and emerald coloured water, lined with lush green palm trees inviting you to jump in and refresh. In the afternoon you will transfer through the elevations of the vast Wahiba desert to arrive at the authentic desert camp, with local cuisine and entertainment to keep you occupied for the evening. At night there is no better place to witness the majestic night sky.

Day 5 Wahiba Sands – Ibra – Nizwa
After breakfast drive towards the nearby town of Ibra. Ibra hosts a fabulous old town with a retro appearance and strong farming tradition producing bananas, mangos and of course dates. Continue our journey into history with the visit of the magnificent Jabrin Castle, one of the most beautiful and better preserved icons of the Yaruba Dynasty. A few clicks away is the majestic Bahla Fort, currently under renovation, but still possible to view from the outside (till further notice). Continue to Nizwa in the early evening.

Day 6 Nizwa – Jebel Shams – Al Hamra – Nizwa
After breakfast you will explore the cultural capital of the country and the Nizwa Souq. Continue on to the most visited national monument, Nizwa Fort. After you will proceed to Al Hamra via Jebel Shams which is the part of the Al Hajar Mountain Range and enjoy the spectacular view of Jebel Shams, known as the ‘Grand Canyon of Oman’. Once you arrive in Al Hamra you will explore some of the oldest preserved houses in the country including the Bait Al Safah (Omani House Museum). Return back to Nizwa in the late afternoon.

Day 7 Nizwa – Birkat Al Mawz – Return to Muscat
Early morning breakfast followed by a visit to the Friday morning animal market, where herders bring their cattle to be auctioned each week. You will depart back to Muscat via Birkat Al Mawz which is situated at the foot of Jebel Akhdar. The old and the new village are both immerse in a lush green date and banana plantation. Birkat Al Mawz is also home of one the most famous and longest falaj system in Oman, the “Falaj Daris”, which runs all the way to Nizwa. After embark on the journey back to Muscat via.
