Kohutapu Lodge Forest Bathing Tour

Description

Meeting point for this tour is the Ngāti Whare rūnanga office, on the Te Urewera rainforest Route (old SH38 road), Murupara. It’s a 1 ½ hour drive from Rotorua or Taupō, and the tour starts at 4pm.

Spend the night in a private bush camp setting, in the heart of the Ureweras. A comfortable whare (accommodation), equipped with proper beds and fresh linen. Upon arrival you will be welcomed with a traditional mihi whakatau and refreshments.  A BBQ dinner, accompanied by good New Zealand wine & beer, is followed by stories of the area, the Māori culture & the Tūhoe people.  The next day, after a cooked or continental breakfast, your guide will collect  you for the day trek of your choice either the Arohaki Lagoon or Whirinaki Loop, both walks require an average level of fitness.

This package includes welcoming hosts, guided day trek, accommodation in a bush whare, dinner, light refreshments, plus a delicious homemade lunch for the following day trek.
